Boris Johnson's condition is “improving” says chancellor

After two nights in intensive care, The Prime Minister is sitting up in bed and “engaging positively”, said Rishi Sunak at today’s coronavirus briefing. Boris Johnson was admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital on Sunday, 10 days after first having symptoms of COVS-19.
A day later he was taken into intensive care after his condition worsened overnight. Mr Sunak said Mr Johnson was “receiving excellent care from the NHS team at St Thomas’”.
The UK saw 938 deaths today from Coronavirus.
