Now, I've never been one to get behind reality TV. From the staged fights, forced scenarios and fake relationships, shows like Love Island, Ex on the Beach and so on have always pushed me away from the genre. Here's where Rhythm and Flow comes in. In a world where shows like American Idol and The X Factor have dominated for years, this new Netflix hit is a breath of fresh air.

So what's it all about? Chance the Rapper, Cardi B and T.I. are searching for hip hop's next big thing. Holding auditions in cities like LA, Atlanta, Chicago and New York, the judges grill the nations hottest emerging talent in an attempt to find "the whole package". But there's no time for reality show niceties here, the 3 heavyweights of the game come equipped with honesty and hard-hitting truths for these burgeoning emcees. They must face the initial audition, callbacks, battle rounds and most importantly the cyphers. Impress, and the contestants can take home a record deal, $250k cash and a performance slot at Spotify's Rap Caviar event. With talent bursting from all corners of the states the choice won't be easy, but with the help of legends like Big Boi, Snoop, Quavo, Jadakiss, Anderson Paak and more, the final contender will surely be the real deal.

The show also features an appearance from the late great Nipsey Hussle, may he rest in peace. You can catch the first 4 episodes of the show streaming on Netflix now, with a new instalment released every week. Peace!
