Jamaican artist sues The Carters over the use of the artist’s voice in the first minute of the song ‘Black Effect Photograph

Jay Z and Beyonce are reportedly being sued by a Jamaican artist over the use of the artist’s voice in the first minute of the song ‘Black Effect’, from their 2018 album ‘Everything is Love’.

The artist, Lenora Antoinette Stines, is suing the power duo for damages, legal fees, a portion of the publishing rights and a writer's credit for the single. Stines, 68, claims she was approached in March 2018 in Jamaica by Hov and Bey asking her to help source dancers for a video to promote their album and tour.
