Sugi Dakks brings some serious funk on new single ‘Cynicism’

As a man always filled with bold and excitable energy with everything he does, singer, songwriter and rapper Sugi Dakks is now feeling some old school funk on his latest single ‘Cynicism’.

Taken from his upcoming new EP ‘Deeply Rooted’, his latest Phil Simmons- produced offering sees him follow in the footsteps of Anderson .Paak and Janelle Monae with its fresh and upbeat direction. Smooth, bouncing and always sharp as hell, this is one jam you’ll be checking out again and again.

Speaking about the single, he said, “Cynicism is a song about pointing out the gradual climb of cynicism I have seen over the years amongst my peers especially when it comes to topics like politics, societal issues, and each other’s well beings. Maybe it’s always been there and I haven’t noticed it, or that this world climate produces more negative thought, but I have noticed how negative people can be and it worries me that that way of thinking will become normalized and then become more and more apparent in our society. The main line in the song describes the direction I hope we are not heading were, “cynicism is the leader of the new world”.
