'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is a Christmas song that many of us know and love. Having been released 26 years ago, a number one spot in the charts was to be expected. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

But now Mariah Carey can finally say that this hit single has rightfully gained a spot in the UK charts at a very deserving number one!

About the track, Radio One's Offical chart show host, Scott Mills said ‘Truly one of the greatest songs never to be Number 1 has finally reached the top spot and on the 11th of December! Hopefully it can hold on until Christmas Day!’

Similarly to what we've all been thinking, Official Charts’ chief executive Martin Talbot added: ‘It’s been a long time in the making, but it is fantastically apt for 2020 to be the year in which the British public finally take Mariah’s timeless festive classic all the way to the top of the Official Chart. What a fabulous, feel-good way to round off a challenging year for so many of us.’

'All I want For Christmas Is You' has also managed to reach its 70th week in the top 40 charts. This is the first song to spend more weeks in the top 40 before reaching number one in UK chart history.

With around two more weeks before the big day, it'd come as no surprise if 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' continues to keep its number one position.
