Jesy Nelson makes decision to leave Little Mix

Little Mix are now a trio after it was announced that Jesy Nelson has decided to leave the group.

The popular girl band were formed in 2011 during the eighth season of X-Factor, where they all originally auditioned as solo artists. They went on to become the first group to win the show.

Earlier this year Jesy took the decision to take a break from the group but it has now been announced via the band's official Twitter that she has left permanently.

In a statement, Little Mix said:

"After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix. This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy. We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being. We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.

We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans. We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us.

Jesy has often been the target of social media trolls and it appears that she has now decided to step away from the limelight for a while to protect her mental health.
