ITV have confirmed that hit show Love Island will return to our screens in summer.

Following a cancelled season last year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, Love Island will be back with its seventh sizzling series this year.

In an announcement of ITV's spring schedule today (March 4), ITV announced: "Love Island will return this summer. The team are working on every contingency plan manageable, so look out for more announcements on that very soon."

Managing Director of Media and Entertainment, Kevin Lygo, added: "There’s so much to look forward to on ITV this spring and into summer, with the Euros and the return of Love Island, but much more besides."

"More texts, fire pit gatherings and challenges" are proposed in the new long-awaited season, along with "lots of twists and turns along the way".

It has not yet been announced who will host the new Love Island series, as presenter Laura Whitmore is currently pregnant with her first child with husband Iain Stirling, also known for his comical voiceover of the same show.

ITV have also kept the location of this year's series under wraps, but it has been reported that Jersey, of the Channel Islands, has been secured if production is unable to take place in show's usual Mallorca location.
