Lyndon Forte is the name that’s on everybody’s lips, and if his latest drop ‘Dangerous’ is anything to go by, it’s easy to see why. The track boasts an irresistible groove that is bubbling with peppered percussion and punchy beats, with Lyndon’s slick vocals orchestrating the flow. Borrowing from hip-hop and trap, Lyndon uses soaring synths and echoed harmonies to create a vast soundscape that proves his expertise.
Born in Jamaica during one of the most devastating hurricanes to ever hit the island, Lyndon developed a passion for music from a young age. After his family relocated to Miami, Florida, he absorbed a multitude of genres, with an eclectic blend of dancehall, alternative hip-hop, pop and urban R&B influencing the distinct sound he currently produces. Adopting the ‘storytelling rap’ style, he cites his inspirations as The Weeknd, Drake and Akon, who similarly write and perform with a broody authenticity and narrative to their words. His older brother, Conroy Forte, helped with his recording and producing, having worked alongside famed Jamaican artists such as Sean Paul, Konshens and Beenie Man. “I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life when I saw my brother producing records in a washroom he converted into a recording studio”, Lyndon explains. “It completely inspired me to learn how to do this for myself”.
With an impressive 18,000 followers across his social media and has racked up over 500,000 streams across YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music, Lyndon Forte is on the rise, and ‘Dangerous’ is a stellar offering from the singer-songwriter.
