The Duchess of Sussex has made a formal complaint about Piers Morgan’s comments about her during Good Morning Britain, the broadcast regulator has confirmed.
An Ofcom spokesperson said “We can confirm receipt of a standards complaint made on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex”. Ofcom is investigating the comments after receiving 41,000 complaints.
It comes after Morgan stated on the ITV breakfast show he “didn’t believe a word” Meghan told interviewer Oprah Winfrey.
During Meghan Markle’s interview about life in the Royal Family, she spoke about having suicidal thoughts, having no support, and experiencing racism.
Meghan’s concerns are thought to be based around the effect the comments may have on people struggling with mental health in general.
The duchess is also reported to have complained directly to ITV’s CEO.
