Disruptors of the sneaker cleaning industry Crep Protect have released a series of deepfake content to highlight the new wave of AR technology being used across the sneaker industry. While still only a concept, does this open the conversation to footwear designers and retailers to provide innovation at retail and keep up with the new wave of 'tech-tailoring' the customer experience.

Using Deepfake technology to create convincing conceptual videos, the team have used AR techniques to bring to life a futuristic look at sneaker styling. One of the first videos to drop this week showcases how the Crep Protect range works across various sneaker silhouettes, giving consumers the ability to understand the best products to use to protect, clean, and store the sneakers they are trying on, whether at home or at retail. The model uses the concept to try on the innovative gel insoles within a Nike Air Max, which will provide wearers additional comfort for long wear including unique gel cushioning for impact, insole foot support, and anti-friction fabric for the ultimate insole comfort.

To celebrate Air Max Day, the team have brought to life a styling simulation, creating the option to try on a range of styles of the Nike Air Max through the silhouette of the classic sneaker style. fabrics, colours and textures change to replicate some of the latest and greatest Air Max releases, with the technology doing the hard work. The team are excited to share the latest series of conceptual content, with more to come later in the year, building out the deep fake concepts across key sneaker culture touchpoints.
