London-based singer, songwriter, and visual artist SAI releases a follow-up single entitled ‘G.A.Y’ (‘Good As You’).

It’s hard to sit still through this head-bopping banger as SAI’s smooth vocals reminiscent of 90’s RNB/Hip Hop weave through an urban soundscape with subtle but bold EDM nuances. ‘G.A.Y’ is blessed with production by not one, but two of the UK’s finest producers: ADP (Chris Brown, Dua Lipa, Krept&Konan) and 808Bhav808 (Gorgon City, Ilira). SAI states that “working with both of them on the same track was dreamy”! The song begins with SAI exploring her lower vocal register in the punchy verses, giving us her sexy, sultry tones, & soaring up to a stunning falsetto just before treating our ears to this powerful pop-laden hooky chorus. The track then enlists the talent of UK rapper Young Spray who works his magic on the bridge with his tongue-in-cheek rap, ending in a call and response style outro between the pair.

‘G.A.Y’, a full-blown dedication to that one person you rate above everything, is about giving someone their flowers while they can still smell them. When asked about the title of the track, which is an acronym for ‘Good As You’, SAI states: “I love the song title so much because of its uniqueness and the intrigue it creates! It also sits perfectly with my outlook on life which is to do whatever and WHOever makes you happy”!

Kicking off her career with a writing credit on Ariana Grande’s debut album and being selected to represent the UK in Eurovision in 2019, SAI is also a classically trained piano player with multi-cultural roots; she is London based, but was born in Manchester and grew up with a French/North African mother and Persian father. Blending together sounds of 90’s soul and R&B within her music, she caught the attention of UK grime legends Chipmunk and Wretch 32, who were some of her early collaborators. Recently, she supported Ne-Yo, Brandy, and BoyzIIMen on their respective tours, before she headed back to the studio to record her upcoming EP, which is set to be released later this year. With over 51,000 streams on Spotify for her debut single ‘Million Bucks’, it looks set to be yet another successful offering from the singer-songwriter.

‘G.A.Y’’s lyrically subtle but genius punchlines combined with the clean yet rhythmically patterned production over the addictive bassline, leave us yearning for that repeat button!
