With many of us having a lot more time on our hands, this is the perfect opportunity to learn new skills and qualifications. It's never too late to learn something new, especially if it can help secure a good job.
Backed by £95 million in government funding, there are almost 400 qualifications available to take. This is in connection with the government's lifetime Skills Guarantee.
For anyone who has not already achieved a Level 3 qualification (equivalent to A-levels), there are qualifications ranging from Engineering and Social Care, to Conservation.
The Lifetime Skills Guarantee is put in place in order to help people from any background gain even more skills, ones that can be used in any aspect of life. People who have found themselves unemployed can also make use of these free courses to gain new skills for better job access.
The government will pilot an extension to the time people can receive Universal Credit while undertaking work-focused study. People can still receive Universal Credit while being able to train full-time for up to 12 weeks, or up to 16 weeks on a full-time skills boot camp in England.
If you are eligible, then you will not have to pay for the Level 3 qualification. The course will be paid for by the government from the National Skills Fund.
