Prince Philip, Husband of Queen Elizabeth II, dies aged 99.
The Duke of Edinburge has died at Windsor Castle just weeks after being discharged from hospital for treatment of an infection and a heart procedure. Prince Philip was admitted to hospital on February 17 after becoming unwell at Windsor Castle during shielding from the coronavirus. He was discharged on March 16 following treatment.
His family announced his death in a statement:
"It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband, His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness passed away peacefully this morning at Windsor Castle," the family said in a statement.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Prince Philip was married to the Queen for more than seven decades was a former naval officer who married in the royal family in 1947. He is the longest-serving consort in British history.
Prince Philip is survived by the Queen and their four children, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
