Analysis has shown that after four consecutive months, Covid is no longer the leading cause of death in Wales.

The Office for National Statistics also claims that deaths due to Covid also dropped significantly in March for the second month in a row. It has been confirmed that heart disease and Alzheimer's disease are now the biggest causes of death in Wales after overtaking Covid.

Two-thirds of communities across the nation of Wales have experienced no deaths due to Covid at all in the month of March 2021. In March Covid accounted for 6.3% of all registered deaths as opposed to the 22.2% it accounted for in February and a further 35.2% in January - a very significant drop over this time period.

The significant drop in the mortality rate is good news for the people of Wales, as it should lead to restrictions slowly and carefully being lifted so they can return to some form of normality.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reportedly said for England that there is nothing in the data that indicates that we will need restrictions in place after June 21st.
