Latest rising star out of Manchester SVMI is back with his latest single dubbed ‘P.O.P (Hold It Down)’, as a fresh new signee to NQ Records. Using a sample from the viral Donna Goudeau ‘I’m legally blind’ meme, this smooth and infectious melody rap track is produced by fellow Mancunian Li-Tek.

‘P.O.P (Hold It Down)’ blends R&B influences with a bouncy baseline and lush synths to create the perfect backdrop for SVMI to release his catchy flows upon. The single displays his multifaceted capabilities, combining his rapping and singing talents all in the space of three minutes. The inspiration for the track comes from wanting to go on a spontaneous baecation with someone new, giving fans a modern day love song with SVMI’s personal twist on it.

The accompanying visuals directed by SVMI and Archie Erskine are laid back as we see the young creative vibing at a house function with his friends. The visuals match the vibes of the song, giving a well-rounded track for fans to vibe in the coming months. In regard to making the video, SVMI commented, “This video was funny, there was a lot of memories behind it, a lot of work that went into it, and a lot of good people that helped make it come alive […] Visually it looks crazy as well, Archie went crazy on the edit as usual and shown why he’s one of the hardest coming out”.
