Nayana Iz offers up smooth new single 'Breaking Point' Photograph

Rising star Nayana Iz is back with her first solo track of the year dubbed ‘Breaking Point’, a track that morphed from an ode to her boyfriend into the consciousness of a British-Asian woman reconciling with her past self.

Nayana Iz’ lyrics are heartfelt, and her wistful vocals allow the lyrics to resonate in this confessional diary entry. With the plaintive keys and jazz reflections, ‘Breaking Point’ is a track that is smooth and beautifully made. The hushed rap verses display the 20 year old’s versatility, offering up verses that are filled with lines of bruised vulnerability. As ‘Breaking Point’ marks the start of a new era for Nayana Iz, it details her journey to peace with lyricism many can relate to in an intimate way.

The accompanying visuals are for ‘Breaking Point’ are set against the low-lit nightscapes of London, offering snapshots into her life. Directed by Liam S. Gleeson, the intimate video beautifully marries well with meaning of the track.

One of the UK's most distinctive new talents, ‘Breaking Point’ follows on from last year’s debut EP ‘SMOKE & FLY’, a weird and wonderful blend of Eastern intonations and caustic bars. To round of the year 2020, the London rapper released a stellar single ‘Partner in Crime’ as well as stunning COLORS performance.
