Rapper Little Simz returns with her new single 'I Love You, I Hate You'. This latest single is taken from her upcoming album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert which drops September 3 and is set to feature previous singles 'Woman', 'Rolling Stone' and 'Introvert'.
Produced by Inflo, 'I Love You, I Hate You,' opens theatrically before leaning into a more jumpy and upbeat production laced with piano chords throughout. Simz raps over the beat with her signature laid-back flow whilst tackling the raw feelings of growing up with an absent father.
Swinging between two intense emotions, Simz finds herself saying; "Hard not to carry these feelings even on my best days, Never thought my parent would give me my first heartbreak."
Gaining more and more emotion and speed with each verse Simz only pauses to let the 'I Love You, I Hate You' adlibs take center stage at the chorus.
Accompanying the song is a visualiser directed by Little Simz herself alongside Jeremy Ngatho Cole. As the song builds up artwork by Cole slowly pieces together a painting of a young black girl with a crown on her head.
Tackling a wide range of topics and themes, we can't wait for Little Simz' album!
