Following his previous release, “Love Won’t Stand a Chance”, the triple threat singer-songwriter & producer August Twelfth is back with the perfect summer track ‘Kwasiasem’.
The track takes its title from Ghana’s native language Twi, “Kwasiasem”, which directly translates to mean fool/foolishness. It’s a vibrant and playful pairing of Afrobeats and R&B that was written about watching a toxic ex-partner be happy with someone else, whilst having to heal alone on the sideline.
When speaking about the writing process of ‘Kwasiasem’, August stated that: “I like coming up with concepts that are relatable but written in such a unique way. The concept for this song was inspired by a friend’s situation in their love life. How can you treat me so bad, put me through hell, traumatise me in our relationship and casually move on to live happily ever after with your next partner? Kwasiasem. You fool!”
‘Kwasiasem’ is written & produced by August Twelfth (previous work incl. Stefflon Don, Lost Girl, Geko, Tion Wayne & more), while accompanied by co-writers Mega12 (previous work incl. Central Cee, Tion Wayne, ‘Mans Not Hot’ & more) & TravizWILDE (previous work incl. Shae Universe, Che Lingo, Madison Paris & more).
