Experimental alt hip-hop duo Tebi Rex burst back on the scene with their eclectic new track ‘Deadman’. The quirky single delivers an earworm chorus and candid bars as the pair rap and sing on melancholy topics. As their pensive words layer on top of uplifting melodies, Tebi Rex showcase how their boundary-breaking style is here to shake up the hip-hop scene on home turf and beyond. Taken from their upcoming album ‘It’s Gonna Be Okay’, due to be released next month, ‘Deadman’ gives us a taste of what to expect and makes us all the more eager to hear what new material they have up their sleeves.
Discussing their new banger, Tebi Rex revealed, “This is us at our most angry, most frustrated, most hopeless. Which is funny because we made sure it sounded really upbeat. Like someone having a breakdown desperately trying and failing to convince themselves that it's going to be okay.”
Already making waves with their unique sound, Tebi Rex have seen support from the likes of EARMILK, Clash and The Line of Best Fit. Set to perform in Dublin’s Opium Rooms on 20 Nov and to tour the UK in 2022, we sense that this is a band destined for big things.
