Clarks has unveiled its latest campaign, "Clarks and Tokyo", celebrating the brand's deep connection with the Ura-Harajuku streetwear scene. This campaign includes a documentary that dives into the vibrant world of Ura-Harajuku, a district known for its influential Urahara kei fashion movement.
Alongside the documentary, Clarks Originals is releasing the Harajuku Shoe Pack, inspired by its historic relationship with Tokyo’s fashion culture. Iconic Clarks silhouettes like the Wallabee, Desert Boot, and Desert Trek favorites among Harajuku’s trendsetters have been reimagined with fresh design elements.
The collection offers bold new looks for both men and women, featuring striking leopard, crocodile, and camouflage prints. Signature details include beaded laces, pony hair accents, and platform soles, while the classic mocc-stitching and premium microsuede remain true to the brand’s heritage.
In the documentary, Clarks highlights the pivotal role these styles played in the rise of Ura-Harajuku street culture, featuring voices from key figures like writers, store owners, and long-time enthusiasts of the Urahara kei movement. Together, they reflect on the cultural significance of the Wallabee, Desert Boot, and Desert Trek in shaping Harajuku’s iconic style over the last five decades.
