Nigerean singer/songwriter Lynox marks an impressive recently realised solo career with his latest thought provoking EP, titled 'Love And Herbs'.

'Love And Herbs' does exactly what is says on the tin; and for the most part - it seems each song is titled very intentionally with the theme of the project and its title very much matching energy. The EP aptly opens with 'Mr Farmer', firmly steeped in one half of the concept drop’s overarching subject matter and musical direction with the syncopated rhythm guitar and other unmistakable attributes of Reggae music, paired with very deliberate and reflective lyricism.

The following track 'Kiss From Heaven' sees Lynox lock in on the other half of the 4-track-EP's theme with the opening line “Now I know what love is”, instantly and instinctively placing us in the 'Love' portion of proceedings.

Track 3 and 4 continue in the same vein as the previous songs as we're treated to one more song representing each side of the respective love and herbs coin. His artistry shines through the signature saxophone we hear throughout this project and seemingly throughout his entire solo catelogue.

Lynox

Though these collection of songs are his first attempt at making Reggae music as a solo artist, I believe 'Love And Herbs' is a good introduction to Lynox's catalogue, displaying his ability to provide easy listening, feel-good, relatable music with subtle messaging, mostly clean lyricism and consistent delivery.

Lynox's 'Love And Herbs' EP is available to buy and stream via all major digital outlets including Apple Music and Spotify.
