Big Nate - Exposure
Big Nate dropped this one last week on streaming, but dropped it on Bandcamp today. This one is big, 10 tracks from Nate with features from Heavy B and Wisdom. This one features a lot of introspection along with his pop culture references like "I don't care how you feel (Phil) like Steve McFadden."
The release is also timely as it talks about his experience during lockdown, speaking specifically how hard it was to be a musician during lockdown.
K9 - Ice Climbers feat. Frostar, Wiley and Direman
I am always excited to hear new K9. And a Direman feature is always going to get a listen from me. I used to have a download link for Dire's 'Long Awaited' mixtape where he had sick freestyles over Ciara's 'Oh' and a tune that sampled the classic X-Men theme.
This one is sure to have you screwing your face as it drops. Frostar kicks things off, with bars like "had white wraps no Asher Roth" and "they say when I touch mic it's murder, I was like who am I Klashnekoff." K9 is next flowing smoothly over the beat. Next up is Wiley himself, giving shouts out to Harrow. Then Direman comes through at the end, showing off the punchlines that make him so revered.
Razor - Trust Dat feat. Big Nate
Razor recruits Big Nate for this banger. Spitting over a hypnotic Hamdi beat, the 2 spit verses filled with threats for rivals. Razor has been a staple of Bandcamp day and hearing new music from him is always a highlight.
Mayday - 4 Tracksuits
Following his recent release with Manga Birmingham MC Mayday gets personal on this one. Spitting over a DubzCo beat, Mayday opening bars are "same 4 tracksuits last 2 years, 4 friends dead in the last 2 years" setting the pace for a song where he pours his heart out, lamenting the loss of friends, being the man of house since 8, not having enough to eat in the fridge, and the movements he is making to make his situation better for himself and thos around him. This is a powerful track!
